This doesn't rank high in the realm of technical problems, but it IS annoying.
I was almost to work this morning when the sun had risen enough for me to shut off my headlamps. For the first time ever, I heard a sqeak. I flipped the headlamps off and on a couple of times once I got to work, and it's the driver's-side lamp that's squeaking--oddly enough, only when it closes. I think it's the outboard side of the lamp making the noise.
Anyone know if these things are easy to lubricate? I've never taken the time to explore the workings of the headlamps. Are there some obvious places to put oil/WD-40?
So I guess this is kinda common, huh? I'll have owned the car two years come August; I'd just never heard the squeak before. I wonder if wax gets into the hinge through the slots around the headlamp and gunks it up? Oh well. I'll have a look at the thing tonight when I get home. Thanks.
