Default TPIS Header, X-pipe question

The TPIS Headers come with what they call a "power H". So why would you need an X-pipe with the TPIS Headers

fxrhm The "H" pipe provided doesn't really blend the exhaust gases very well. It's a poor substitute for a quality off road "X" pipe IMO:yesnod:
I have the TPIS and the x-pipe and I removed both the cats and pre-cats and connected to a set of Corsa Indy's.The sound is fabulous with NO resonance and the torque gains are outstanding. You can take a peek at my home page for full install pics.I believe it's the way to go:D

I have a dump question. How do you remove your X pipe if you have your X pipe or H pipe welded in?

Great pics - still have questions:
1.) Any one have TPIS headers without the X-Pipe? Results?
2.) How about the Belangers - any experience -they are a bit more but seem to have better numbers
3.) Any one wrap their headers (down by the collectors) for heat and sound control?
4.) I read a recommendation to go with MSD 8.5 mm plug wires to withstand the heat. Are they really worth it?
5.) Am planning on the LS-6 Intake - any thoughts on that combined with the headers - would the power increases be additive
6.) I have a powerloader II - called Steve Cole and asked if I would need a re-prgram with the LS-6 and the long tube headers and the repsonse was, see how the car runs and if needed, then send the unit back for a re-program; what's up with that?

Regarding the plug wires and dealing with heat, places like Summit carry a heat-resistant woven metallic "tube" that you slip over the wire where it's closest to the headers-I always thought that was a better idea than the stock metal heat shield-maybe you could use that alternative. They're a little costly though, if I remember right.

With the Powerloader, I'd assume that the changes from headers and intake regarding air/fuel are small enough that they stay within the PCM's "range" of self-correction, and the car can still vary enough to adapt.

I have the TPIS headers without the X-pipe and picked up a nice gain. I have a '99 so I get popping with my PRT's but the whole combination sounds real good. I think an LS6 intake would pick you up around 5-10 rwhp. You won't fully realize the benefit of the headers and intake until you change the cam.

I'm trying to stay away from going into the engine - thinking the LS6 Intake manifold and the headers would give a nice bump
