Default Leaking Slave Cylinder?

I just purchased a monster level 3 clutch, flywheel, slave, and remote bleeder. I thought I was about done and noticed fluid dripping onto the floor while bleeding the clutch. I've pulled the torque tube back as far as I can while leaving the master cylinder hooked up and can't for the life of me figure out where the fluid is leaking from. You can hear air and it sounds like it's coming from the bellhousing. I've checked the bleeder line and master cylinder line and they are both dry.

Where could the fluid be leaking from on the slave cylinder? Also does it sound like it's a bad slave maybe? I've just never heard of this happening before and it's driving me crazy

It's either the slave seals or the romote bleeder connection. My remote bleeder leaked on the flare fitting (not sure if yours has this or not) It's a pain, but everything will have to come out again to correct it.

i have my car apart right now and was considering putting something on the remote bleeder threads to keep it from leaking as a precaution.

sublime-who's remote bleeder are you using?

Possibly the remote bleeder fitting-is yours the type with a crush washer on the fitting?(Tick, for one) if so ,they've got to be pretty tight to seal properly.

When I did my clutch in November,I bolted up the torque tube to the bell housing, and before reinstalling the rest of the drivetrain, bled the hydraulics, got the clutch working, then wedged a length of 2x4 between the seat base and the depressed clutch pedal, and left it there for 4 hours,to see if anything dripped out - nothing did,so that part was cool.(also a good time to check the gap between the disk and flywheel/pressure plate)

But I also had to do the job twice, because I messed up the pilot bearing the first time in there,so I replaced it with a Kevlar bushing on the second go-round.
No way around it,you're going to have to do it again,no matter where the leak is.
I feel your pain....

I agree slave cyld seals or more likely remote bleeder fitting. With teh lower bellhousing removed, you should be able to see where it is leaking from.

Be sure to not get fluid on the clutch disks.

I'm using the tick remote bleeder with crush washer. It was leaking there first but got that tightened and now it looks like it coming out of the front of the slave. Still pretty much have it apart I just hope it didn't get on the disk. That will suck to try to clean off.

Well got a hold of monster clutches yesterday and they are sending me a new slave out today. Talk about great customer service! I'm just hoping now no fluid got on the disk. If is did anyone know of anyway to clean that crap off of it?

its not a matter of did it get on the clutch, it is how much. you have to pull teh TT to replace the slave anyway, so you might as well pull teh clutch and clean all the surfaces real well with brake cleaner. Better do it now than have to tear it back down later.
