My column locked on me ( 03 ZO6 ) 2 nights ago and again today. I was able to get it unlocked both times. I'm considering the bypass, but I'm wondering if there's an option in HP tuners or a similar program that lets you just say the feature is not fitted so as long as it's unlocked then it will never matter again? I want to program out my 1/4 skip shift anyways so if I could eliminate this as well that would be perfect.
No. HP Tuners can only modify the PCM (engine/transmission computer).
You can program out the fuel cut that's initiated in the event of a reported column lock event with it, but that has zero effect on actual column lock actuation, which is controlled by the BCM.
