Default E brake light stuck on

Car is a 99 FRC, the e brake light in the gauge cluster has been stuck on for 6+ months, it won't go out. This obviously isn't a huge problem but it's a mild annoyance. Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

There's a small microswitch under the boot that the e-brake mechanism either depresses when the lever is up or when it's released(can't remember which, been awhile since I was in there),it can get either dirty or rusty,or just plain fail.
Peel the boot up a bit from the passenger side and you'll see it.
That's what I'd check first.

I believe a low brake fluid level will illuminate the brake warning as well.

Do you have a picture or diagram of what I should see when the boot is off or is the switch really obvious?

Brake fluid is full guys, thanks for the suggestion though.

Just because the brake fluid is full, does not mean there is not a problem with the circuit. Unplug the fluid level switch to be sure.

Sit in the drivers seat, lean over and peel the velcro open where the e-brake boot goes behind the carpet.
The switch is apx halfway up the side of the tunnel,in a line with the front of the console armrest/cushion. Little blue switch with a flat arm about 1/2 inch long sticking out of it on the bottom side, and a wire plugged into the tunnel side of it.
IF the e-brake handle mechanism isn't depressing it when it's released, the brake light on the dash will stay on.

Thanks guys, for some reason the brake lever wasn't moving the switch when I used it, just left it in the off position so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
