Ok so I was doing a burnout the other day and the only thing that burned was the clutch. Major bad smell... It does not slip on hard 1-2 or 3-4 shifts infact it does not seem to slip at all except on initial take off. I admit that I tend to feather it a bit on take off but this slippage is new. Regardless i'm getting the burnt clutch smell pretty frequently now. So I was looking for a DIY thread on clutch replacement. I know it's a big job but is it a shop job? I've done several auto replacements on other cars but never a clutch. What am I looking at here and if I go with a shop how much am I looking at.
Thanks
Mike

I would guess about $600 just a guess. Im about to do mine. I found a DIY that DOPE did. I also saw one from someone and they didnt pull everything out to do the swap. I have tried to find it but I cant.
Local shop around here charges like $450 to install. When you see how many things you can mess up, and how hard it is, it is really worth the $450. If you can get it on a lift it might be a little easier, but to me, still not worth the $450 saved. If you do it yourself, do a search for the dope install. Good luck either way.

Agreed-this job is MUCHO easier on a lift with REAL trans jacks and room to work.
If you have access to a lift and a great set of tools its a straight forward DIY (done two of them). Personally I wouldn't want to do it on jack stands.
