I think 1243 was caused by my battery as well. Trussme has done a nice writeup on diagnostics and Bill Curlee has made many suggestions to help clean up the electrical gremlins. I went through a lot of that stuff on my '00 vette and stopped short of taking the brake module apart.
I was getting 1243 frequently (~1/2 of the startups) and noticed it came on more when I had the door open. I also noticed that in my short commute that the battery was charging at 14V almost all of the time. My battery is almost new, and not suspect, so I think I've got a current drain when the car is turned off (another C5 favorite) and that is causing 1243 errors when the charge is low. I'll post again if the battery wasn't the issue.

ABS/TCS Gone
It's been a year now without the ABS TCS error message. I did a bunch of stuff, including disassembly and resolder of ABS module, but that wasn't it.
The fix was simply tightning the loose nut on the starter that connects the hot battery cable to the alternator. A few years back, I had someone replace a tranny seal and along with other workmanship issues, they didn't torque the starter nut. I hope this fix helps someone.
