CD Changer Skip
I recently istalled an OEM 12 disk CD changer on my 2003 that I bought from a member on this forum. It looks like its in good shape..not abused. However, when playing disks it skips now and then...no music for a couple of secods then back to normal. Sometimes it even plays the music "fast" then it goes back to normal. This all happens while sitting in the garage not moving. Any ideas..."head" needs to be cleaned maybe or ???

You could use a "cleaning disc" in there and hope that takes care of your issue. More and more "cd's" are going out with the 8-track. The best way to go is I-pod or flash drive. You get enough songs to drive anyplace and never hear the same one twice. You never have to worry about skipping. Both items fit in your pocket (no theft). I cant see any reason to have a cd player.

I suspect that damage to the reader because the CD unit was shipped without installing the travel pin. Most folks know nothing about this and shipping can be a 'bitch' on electronics. I have several spare 12 disc CD changers that could not live thru the shipping and ended up with skipping or 'Errrr' messages.
