2000 C5 Transmission Problem

2000 C5 Transmission Problem
When downshifting into 3rd it grinds badly. I've been told it's a $2000.00 job to replace the sincro. Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a used transmission? Thanks.

RPM is $1900 and a C6 Z06 clutch kit is about $450 or so. It's a good idea to do the clutch as the same time since you have to drop the rear end from the bellhousing and the clutch is only a few bolts away from being replaced. It's there so why not?
