Default Need help with two problems. Hard to start and seat issue.

I have a 04 6 speed coupe. First problem is to start the car either I have to turn the engine over for 5-10 seconds or turn it over 2-3 times quickly to get it to fire up. When it fires it runs great but I just can't get in and turn the key and have it fire right up? This is a daily driver and I replaced the battery and have used many tanks of gas with additives so I don't think it was a bad tank of gas. The other problem is while driving the seat will reposition it's self like I am trying to adjust it. It goes to the same position every time which is a movement where it tilts back and puts my knees in the dash. Not good while driving. It doesn't happen every time I drive but like I said it's a dd and happens about every other week. Thanks for any help with either problem.

have ya pulled the code yet? what codes is it flashing? Whats the fuel pressure at the rail? Last time the fuel filter was changed?

No codes. Fuel filter on a 2004 is in the tank. Supposed to last forever I guess? Only 44K miles. I have not checked the fuel pressure. Had someone tell me it may be the oil pressure sensor/switch. Would that cause a delayed start?

For sure. Need to know what pressure you have at the rail, and if there is any bleed down.

If fuel pressure is low wouldn't it run bad. After It gets started it runs great like nothing is wrong.

It's not about low "running" pressure, as it is about "starting pressure". If you have a bad check valve in the pump assembly, leaky injector, etc.....the pressure will bleed down...and hard start.

Check the pressure at the rail/bleed down.
