Its really not noticeable at ALL with the car down, but I put it up to replace the exhaust and was
So I'm thinking due to the fact its not visible, couldnt I just sand this area down some - mostly to get the dirt, rubber, and road grime out of the pits and scratches, and throw some fiberglass down over it? I searched and found that it has to be "SMC compatible" fiberglass, so assuming I procure that, am I safe to lay it down?

Get the car up on a lift and power wash it, That way you can see what the actual damage is.......
A picture would help.....................

Weekend project.
I had some scraped spots on the bottom of my rockers. The car looks mint outside, but knowing about that damage aggrivated me.
I fixed it myself.
I borrowed the lift at the shop (or could have used jackstands at home) and used a light skim of Bondo (after a good surface prep).
Then I used an electric palm sander to make it smooth, followed by a can of Torch Red Duplicolor (your parts store can order from Duplicolor)
The paint blend lines are on the bottom anyway, but I did a pretty good job. Before I start driving the car I'll install some frame savers.

No bling-blang on that project.
I am finishing up on a cylinder head though. Just my stock 243s with a pocket port and chamber blending. The outside is sanded and ready for buffing.

thanks for trying - had a buddy test the links, then remembered that same guy used to do body work. he told me to rip the rocker off and bring it to him. ironically, your inability to see the links helped me

All the pics show up for me. Lots of scratches on that shiny yellow...makes me wonder how the underside of mine looks.
edit- glad it worked out for the better!

Good Luck "ripping" the rocker off. It is glued to the frame. Looks like serious speed bump rash.

if its impossible to get it off/beyond my ability, ill just bring him the car. i'd read that its glued on, but wasnt sure how bad it'd be to get it off.
anybody know what kind of glue they use?

It's all in the body service manual.
