Hey everybody! How much of a pain in the **** would it be for me to swap my electronic throttle body for a cable style one off of like say... an 04 GTO. Any more info would be appreciated.

All you have to do is reconcile the TAC module and PCM not communicating properly.....and you are set......
Can't wait for the write up on how to do this. I'll bet many others want to do the same thing...... OP please take some pics to go along with a writeup.
No kidding. I don't think it's possible without a custom PCM. The Throttle position and accelerator position goes directly to the TAC, comparison is made...and the communication between the PCM and TAC takes place via the class 2 serial buss.
Ok, I found it. Alot of old hot rod truck builders are doing this and they told me that the guys at Painless have a kit that they will send me. Otherwise they told me to go to a junkyard and pull all the stuff off of an 04 GTO and use it. I think I'll just order the stuff from Painless. I'll keep you guys updated.
This is the most retarded thing I've heard here in a while. Why would you want to get rid of the factory system when it's perfectly reliable, and you can tune it to perfection if you were an hptuners geek?
This isn't Toyota, this is a Corvette.
So you're going to improve on the $millions that GM has spent creating the system that throttles your C5..
Of course we don't run ABS, TC or anything like that.
Because I'm sure the PCM would be none to happy when it tried to engage one of these features and cut the throttle, but can't because it's no longer electronic.

How does the painless harness correct the class 2 serial input to the PCM from the TAC...and vice versa?
