Hi every one! I have a 98 MT. Today I was going to lunch, and I started the car. It ran for just a second and cut out. The security light was flashing so I pulled out the key and tried again and it started. It did it again after work and at safeway. I pulled the codes and they are:
i have a feeling its P1626 haha
All are History....
P1626 Theft Deterrent System Fuel Enable Circuit
C1255 EBTCM Internal Malfunction
B2723 PASS-Key Detection Circuit
U1096 Loss of Communication with IPC
U1064 Loss of Communication with BCM
U1016 Loss of Communication with PCM

You might start by checking the battery voltage and verify that you have a minimum of 12.5vdc across the battery with the ignition off. If you are good there, try to determine if the pellet contacts on the key are clean. Try your other key as well just in case. Is the passenger floorboard area dry?
Yeah my voltage is good on the battery. I buffed up the contacts on both keys. The floorboard is dry aswell. It seemed to do this every other time I started it today...Im stumped

Stumped?, I thought you had it nailed. The P1626 code is a symptom of the B2723 which means the the code is not sent from the BCM to the PCM to enable the fuel injectors, and therefore...no start. If you are certain the BCM is not wet, and the keys are good....it's probably the ignition switch itself. Never hurts to inspect the PCM connectors for corrosion, security, etc.
So I tried starting it this morning and it did the same thing...I pulled off the floor panel to inspect. Dry as a bone, no bare wires and all is tight. Then I tried again. Nothing. No lights, nothing. So I checked the battery connections and as soon as I touched the positive terminal every thing came back on and I heard the steering colum lock acuate. So I jumped back in and it fired right up. No codes for now either. I will keep an eye on it. Hopefully this simple bad connection was all it was. I cleaned all the contacts for good measure too haha. I really appreciate every one's help too!!!
From: Ok! So you don't believe in conspiracies, but will you acknowledge the possibility of there being coordinated activities in secret places? Texas

I did read the codes he posted. My low fuel pressure on start up issue presented as my car turning over trying to fire off, but dying immediately. It thru no codes. I was trying to be helpful as the other posters were. It was something to consider even though now obviously it was unrelated. The OP would have been appreciative, however, if my completely useless suggestion had led him to a solution.
