Default Problems with the Radio and Seat

Hey Guys,

Trying to fix an issue with a Corvette, my father left the windows down during a rain storm and now the radio and Front seat do not work. (Seat continually wants to go forward. I have looked at the fuses (all good) and I have even replaced the little black box under the seat a nice 200 dollar wasted... Any ideas of what it could be would be appreciated. Oh and the radio is completely dead, no time displayed, nothing.

Thank you in advance

Zach

Thinking it should be the same issue but am not sure...could it be a coincedence? Should I pull the radio is there some secret fuse somewhere?

Pull your codes. I'll guess that you'll see some "NO Comms" messages. I suggest disconnecting one system at a time such as the door control modules, then seat module. Look for water in or on the BCM which is in the passenger footwell.

Okay no codes on the BCM but I have these codes

Radio No Com.

Aoldcm
b2282h
b2284h
b1064h

A1Rdcm
B2283h
b2285h
U1064h

BO-Rfa
U1096h
U1064h
u1016h

I know a couple of these say no communication with the BCM, does that mean the BCM is bad?

Try disconnecting the LDCM, then the RDCM and see if the radio comes to life. This will eliminate them from being the cause or verify that one or more is causing issues.

It's all dry, this has been like this for a couple of months. It turns out I was ignorant and when I went to look at the BCM surprise surprise there is another fuse box down there, I found the radio fuse was blown, But my seat still moves forward, could it be the circuit breaker? Or should I continue and disconnect the LDCM and the RDCM and see if that stops it from going forward.

Re-memorize the seat position/memory.

This corvette is a striped model. It didn't even come with memory options... I have it disconnected at the moment I push back on the adjuster and it will stop the motion of the chair going forward, but won't let it go back? curious.

Did you by chance put in a SCM for a car with memory?

I bet the Switch Panel on the side of the seat has water in it.

Me too! There is a Relay Center under seat without Memory, but I don't know what it looks like.

I think that is the one I replaced, I made sure the numbers matched when I ordered the part. I don't know what SMC means then, I thought it was the black box with the three different plugs that hook into it. It also attaches to the seat using the metal seat wires to secure it to the bottom almost right in the center of the seat. I am going to look at it this weekend and try and figure it out again, I will take pictures and maybe a video to show what I mean. To clarify the seat moves forward to the point of heating the motor and draining the battery it does not stop.

ZAXVETTE, unplug the connector from the Switch pannel, that will eliminate one possibility.

So if I unplug the side seat switches and it keeps moving I know it isn't the switch, If I unplug it and it stops it IS the switch....

I didn't even think of that

The seat DOES NOT MOVE forward with the seat switch plug pulled, I opened the switch up and took pictures.....I can't see too much wrong with it, of course I am no expert either...what do you guys think?
