Default supporting vendors

Just a question to the mod's, etc..

When a vendor becomes a supporting vendor what exactly do we as members gain from it? For example, Two days ago I ordered TPIS long tube coated headers from TPIS direct. Today I noticed that they are now a "supporting vendor" and I should welcome them. I called them up to see if I, as a member in good standing, was eligible for ANY type of discount. They promptly said no. Just would like to know why we consider vendors as supporting vendors. Keep in mind, I have purchased from just about all the vendors on this site and have had nothing but a postive experience however, I would find it hard to believe that if they aren't gonna cut us a price break then the only reason for them being a supporting vendor is to answer our questions. They should do that for any customer without prejudice as to what forum you belong to or not. True I don't pay to be a member, paying for parts is expensive enough. No flaming was intended at all

The main benefit that members receive is that the forum stays available and free! :D Supporting vendors pay the bills around here.

We've done our best to create a group of Supporting Vendors that not only provide great products, but also contribute to the tech discussions here. I expect that TPiS will fit right in that regard.

One great thing about the forum is that you get the great discounts without having to pay any membership fees. The supporting vendors run some pretty darn good prices for all of us. Check the major catalogs and compare prices. :)

And Troy...just want to say I think you've done an outstanding job in your selection. I've used many of the supporting vendors, and not had one bad experience. Can't wait till I get to buy a car from one of the supporting dealers...:)

We've removed a few over the past three years. Both vendors and dealers. We have a pretty good group now. :)
