While driving home one day, my car just shut off. No sputtering. Just off. Got it towed home and began investigating. Hooked up a fuel pressure tester and 0 psig. Checked all fuses related to fuel system and replaced fuel pump relay... nothing. Replaced fuel filter.... nothing. Clean fuel came out of filter. After putting in new filter, the car turned over once with a sputter, and now it only cranks, but still will not turn over. I'm hoping to not have to replace fuel pump, but does this sound like the next step? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Anyone have similar issues / solutions? Thanks in advance.

Stop changing parts and do some voltage/ground checks. Does the fuel pump prime when the key is turned to on (stays on for 2 seconds). Do you get 12 volts at the fuel pump connector when the key is turned to on? Do you have a good ground at the fuel pump connector?
Unfortunately there are no codes... I was surprised to see none. When the car died initially, two msgs appeared on the display:
1. Service abms
2. Service traction control system
These codes cleared the next time the car was attempted to be started.
I'm headed out of town for the weekend to visit friends, so I'll get to the voltage checks on Sunday eve. Thanks for all the responses.
With those messages, there should have been stored codes. They won't clear themselves that fast. Are you sure you are pulling your codes correctly? As for the problem of it shutting itself off, usually its the battery connections at the battery or at the starter solenoid. Also the ignition switch would be suspect. Now one more thing that's been happening lately, no codes, engines running badly if at all...the find is usually a broken valve spring. Again, check carefully for those codes unless you are sure you did it right the first time.
I've checked codes via this method before and there used to be some History codes. This was a couple months ago and the only code i remember had something to do with either a leak in HVAC system or faulty fuel tank pressure sensor. This was found to be a cracked vacuum line that was replaced, and the code cleared. While checking for the fault this time around, I disconnected the battery, which I know will reset the computer, but shouldn't clear the codes. As of current there are no codes. This obviously makes it harder to pinpoint the fault. Thanks again for all the help.

You found the problem, "Hooked up a fuel pressure tester and 0 psig." You need to follow Lucky's advice to pinpoint the fault. B\G
