Question about C5 brakes
How many miles can I expect to get out of the C5 brakes - both front and rear? My Vette is a daily driver, and I drive mostly surface roads, not highways. I've got 29,000 miles on the Vette since new.

It really depends on your driving habits and how easy or hard you use your brakes. Another big factor is whether you do a lot of highway miles or stop and go traffic... I have seen some guys get upwards of 50K on their brakes but the vettes were mostly driven highway miles... It's easy to see what life is left on the pads by visual inspection...

I usually get a few thousand miles out of a set of the factory ones :smash: Now I have switched to the Baer Eradispeeds and I like them so far but I've only had them on for a week

I just did all new brakes on the front. My pads had plenty to go at 22k miles. But I replaced them because I replaced warped rotors at the same time, and wanted to ensure proper wear on all the new parts.
If anything, you'll probbaly experience rotor warp way before the pads are shot.

Running a road course, 4 hours total took my new front pads down to 1/32". The inside pad wears faster, and wears on a taper. Hard to see unless you pull a wheel. I ran the next set for 7,000 miles on the street and couldn't measure ANY wear at all.
