I have my new baby and in 1st gear (02'Z06 6spd) in traffic if I let up on the gas I get some jerking upon acceleration and if I accelerate it usually goes away.
I do not hear any clunking noise and assume a wore motor mount? On the highway cruising when I let up on the gas I do not hear a clunk from coasting to acceleration so I do not believe it is in the transmission or shafts.
Any help would be appreciated! Only 66k on the ticker too!
Once again the Chevy dealership (Independant) inspected this car prior to purchase and should have pointed this out.
Have you owned a vehicle with a manual transmission before? I ask because this could be just normal operation when in a low gear, you have a very solid connection compared to an automatic. I am having a difficult time trying to explain the "buck" you get when on and off the throttle using a low gear.

There is a certain amount of 'slop' in the manual transmission equipped Vettes. It is probably most noticeable in lower gears while navigating a parking lot (for instance).
Yes, I've owned a manual transmission car before, although not a vette.Sometimes when it starts this jerking in stop and go traffic I push the clutch in and it goes away and I let out the clutch again and it is either okay or might do it again.
I test drove a couple Z06s and never noticed it like this.

If you have enough "slop" in your drive train and are experiencing bucking or slopiness upon power application and when backing off the power, it sounds to me like you have all the symptoms of worn out or damaged driveshaft couplers. If you have eliminated the obvious, more easily checked stuff like engine mounts, trans mount, etc, then I would definitely look at the couplers. Don't assume that just because you "only" have 66K miles that it "couldn't" be them, like some people do.
Had the car on the ramps last night and the rear coupler is clicking when I rock the car back and forth slightly. I will make a 2x6 jig for the jack and check the cv assys too! I think I will go with one poly in the front and one aluminum in the back.
I had a 05 c6 with this same issue. I replaced the driveline couplings with polyurethane bushings. It took away the slop for a short time but came back. It also seemed to cause more wheel hop. Affter changing the rear dif and trans to a 06 z06 setup, problem was still there. Sold the car and now have a 06 Z06 (20k miles all stock) starting to do the same thing. Anyone else having this problem in their z06?
