Is the code gone after the sensor change? Did you inspect the harness to the sensor itself?
The code came back, yes I checked out harness.I replaced same cam that was in there and it was not stock. Yes I had timing marks lined up. Could I maybe have rockers not set right? And valves are off

So the P0336 came back.
Not too many options here. You replaced the sensor, so that leaves the wiring, and the PCM.....Of course a damaged reluctor wheel can cause a similar issue, but since the motor has not been apart, I would find this remote at best.
Rockers are hard to mess up......provided you followed the installation procedure, and they are torqued properly.
Just so I understand correctly. You disconnected the connector from the PCM, and disconnected the connector from the crankshaft sensor, and check the three wires' resistance value, for shorting to each other, opens, etc ?
