My Corvette stinks, literally!
Since I purchased the car I've noticed some valvetrain type clicking noise when I give it light gas, heavy acceleration I only hear the engine. I thought maybe it was something internal, I read some threads about noises. A friend of mine who works on LT1's and diesel engines every day mentioned that the noise sounded like it could be an exhaust leak.
I've noticed lately that when I "gun" it with the windows down I get a nice whiff of exhaust right in my face, the noise also appears to come from right in front of me.
Has anyone experienced this before? How would I track down an exhaust leak? BTW the car runs great with no issues at all besides the click when load is applied to the engine and the smell.

Do you have headers? Check the mounting flange where the manifolds or headers bolt to the heads for black carbon tracking. If not, look further down to where the manifolds connect to the head pipes. Theres a"donut" there, see if you can hear it or see excessive carbon tracking around either one of them.
