Default Need help with my A4 !

Can a specialist watch this and tell me what is wrong with my gearbox?
It does this sometimes and then the gearbox is absolutely normal ...

Sounds like it is slipping. How many miles on your C5? Has the tranny fluid ever been changed?

Trans is slipping, happens all the time since the 4L60E is a steaming pile of dog ****. You can change the fluid(if it's old) and tune/get the trans tuned. This isn't a permanent solution but it works. My trans was slipping on the 1-2 a bit(and my 2-3 used to be exactly like that) and I increased shift pressure/lowered shift points and the 1-2 is crisp now(this was a year ago). It's not hard if you're a DIY type of guy and have HPTuners. Just takes some logging and some trial and error.

Thanks for those answers. My fluids have been changed a few months ago and I had a tune already.
So if I understand correctly I need my gear box to be rebuilt by a pro?

Who changed the fluid, a shop or dealer? You may want to take it back and make sure it has the proper amount. Low fluid could cause this. How do you normally drive it, easy or *****-out?

I went back already. And they added 0,5 liters. But it did not change much.

I drive easy until I get motor temp at 85°C and Trans at 35°C. And then it is ball out. I am not dead sure, but it seems this phenomenon stops when my Trans temp is high. Does that make sense?

Usually it is the opposite. Higher the tranny temps, the more slippage you have. How high have the temps reached? How many miles on your vehicle?

That is not too bad. As posted above, you may want to try to have the PCM tuned for quicker shift points. That may work. Mine was a little sloppy and had mine tuned after Vararam & 160 t-stat installed and it has been fine.

I would go that route first since it is MUCH cheaper than a rebuild. You have options of taking it to a tuner or a mail-order tune.

I already had a tune made here in France, with hp tuner. My tuner told me my gear box had already has been tuned with predator, very badly.

I'll have another talk with him about that to see if he can do something. But I think he'll tell me he has put the same program as a friend of mine and it works on his Vette ...

By the way, one other strange thing is that this phenomenon doesn't happen if I start from dead stop and floor it.
It is only when the car already has momentum.

What would that mean?
