high oil pressure reading

high oil pressure reading
2000 vert -- just got a low oil level indication -- noticed oil presure pegged on the gauge and reading 129psi -- 1000 mi on oil change -- no other issues -- oil level on the full mark -- any idea what it could be?

Oil pressure sensor located underneath the intake manifold at the rear of the engine. Lots of threads on this. I did mine over the winter with the info received from the forum members. No need for a dealer here - do it yourself. Just make sure you get the brass Borg Warner unit from Advance or Autozone.

Yes, the low oil level message comes on -- When it's running & after shutdown, a little chime -- If I clear it, it will flash back up, maybe every 45 mins or so -- After I posted, I started reading the other posts on the oil pressure issue & felt a little stupid -- I should have read first -- This is such a great forum -- I'll change the pressure sending unit first & see if that clears up the low level issue as well -- Thanks for the reply

I agree. I think I've only heard once or twice in the forum about a "low oil level" problem. It could be a more serious issue unless its just that sensor and as noted already, its not the same one as the pressure sensor.
