I am with ya.. I have a set for everyday use and a set of 17x12's for the track and I do agree that they need center caps. Let me know what you find out :seeya
Hmmm I am looking at this setup also and would like the center caps. Some tracks make you take them off though. NHRA and IHRA. I have only had two tracks do it to me, Firebird and Rt66.
Please help me understand your post.. "I am with Stupid"??
Just what is it that you are trying to say.????
I think he just means he agrees with the above statement. Until they have a lil smiley without the "...stupid" thing people are just using it as "I agree with the above.." type of thing... at least that is what I have seen primarily... imo no harmful intent was intended...
I believe John @ CCW machines most of his street wheels to accept centercaps. If you told him you were using the wheels for racing, he doesn't machine them. You might want to ask him what the specific differences are.
My wheels are for competition only, and I did not get centercaps.
CCW only includes center caps with their street rims and do not include them with their rims built for racing. I am not sure of the exact reasoning but it might have to do with how you want race rims to fit right on the hub for better support for lateral forces during cornering. That is my guess anyway! :)
Re: Center Caps for CCW Wheels... (Chris@VetteFinders)
ther are a number of differences between what we build for the street and what we make for the track. one of the differences is in the machining, race wheels are machined to be hub-centric (close fit to the hub projection) which does not leave room for a center cap
street wheels are machined oversize to allow a machined centercap to come in from the back side of the wheel (the center caps have thier inner diameters machined to fit the hub projection). this is also one of the reasons that street wheels cost more than thier equivalent race package.
as it stands now a drag race setup sells for 1400 a set (kinda pricey for drag racing, but they cost nearly as much to produce as a set of 18" wheels) and i need to keep the drag package as minimalist as possible to keep it in production. hope this clears some things up.

Re: Center Caps for CCW Wheels... (nevrenuf)
One more reason for racers to not get the center caps...tech inspectors will have you remove them prior to racing because they can sometimes come off and then become debris on the track. This is true for any center caps made by anyone. Has nothing to do with John's AWESOME C5 drag package!
Speaking of which, John. Several guys with c5's were at the Super Chevy Show in Pomona yesterday and today. More than a couple were lusting after my CCW drag package. I think you're gonna get some calls! :D
You hooked me up real well...ran a new best e.t. of 12.017 with a new best 60' of 1.75 (had been running in the 2.0+ range prior to these wheels and tires). When I get my ST3500 in two weeks I will be well into the 11's - all motor, no spray! Life is good! :D
I was on the Covered Bridge Cruise in....Alabama. Out of 42 vettes only one with CCW's...got lots of comments and was very distinctive....I like them wheels... :D
