After several folks take their time to investigate and give solutions/answers to a posters problems, why doesn't the poster have the common courtesy to post WHAT THE FINAL SOLUTION to the problem was. People must feel it's OK to ask others to take their time to help them, however, their time is too valuable to "wrap up the post". Seems like the thing to do is to provide the solution so others will learn and what better way to thanks to those who tried to help out.

That's been one of my pet peeves with this sight, but I'm sure it's the same on all sights. Many people start threads, get detailed feedback and solutions and never re-visit the thread, or at least don't post a response. It sometimes makes you pause before you give help.
I completely agree. It's common courtesy. Most members here put lots of time into answering questions for others even though everything could be easily found with a search or search this forum. This isn't a fast food drive through.
Finally, a topic where there's a consensus of opinion...
I agree,no feedback has a most negative effect, there are those for whatever reason have similar problems and don't post questions as maybe they can't/don't do their own work but they can still assist in the repair and without the outcome they can't and those that post solutions/give advice and without feedback have no way of knowing if they helped or provided solutions. So to all who have problems, when you post please post the outcome regardless of how long it may take you to effect the repair or find a solution...The forum is your friend ....treat it the same way you would treat a friend
I agree. It irritates me. It also bothers me when members post an item for sale without adding pictures. We all know someone is gonna ask for pics. I won't buy an item without seeing some pics first. Not sure why it bothers me so much, but it does. No Pictures, No Sale!!!
I agree with your observation. The whole point of a forum is communication. Communication is a two-way street to borrow a relevant metphor. The give and take of a visual discussion is what is interesting. Not providing a response to the assistance given when a request for help is sent out is like not saying "thank you" for the help. Besides there is no closure to those of us who are interested in the topic and whether the assistance rendered was successful or at least a little helpful.
Agreed to all post above. Kinda reminds me of the politicians in Washington, "it's all about ME." And speaking about the For Sale section, someone wanting to sell something that cost a lot to ship, and they are not smart enough to list a location.
Of course getting the information is a tremendous help to everyone who visits this site. I will say thank you to everyone that has helped, even if it was not me that was helped directly. Being a new bee to owning a vette, I feel that I can not wait until I have something to offer as well.
I have learned much by reading the forum. Many have said this before by commenting on what a great forum this is.
"It's only the giving that makes you, what you are", Ian Anderson. Feel good about it.
It seems once your problem is solved, to many, thats it,end of story.Remember sending thank you's to your aunts for the birthday money you got, that your momma made you send.well I don't need thank you's, though it's nice just tell all the outcome ,a small price for such valuable information

well I can't agree for the need to post up the fix/cure since the thread answers it for anyone searching in the future. Seldom is there a problem that hasn't been hammered to death and everybody knows the fix. It is rare that the fix is something other than what's been recommended.
I do agree though it's nice to get the pat on the back, thank you for the help, etc.
Atta boys ,thank yous are always welcome and apppreciated but to me the resolutionn of a mechanical problem that was the result of our collective input that is most satisifying,so if its fixed let us know
