I have a 98 c5 that had a stock converter and gear. Over the winter I put a yank 3200 converter in with a 342 gear. Now when you first get to overdrive the converter will lock in, when you speed up it unlocks and than never re locks. Yank said to make sure it is set at 48mph lock up speed in over drive, and it is. My tuner can lock it with his lab top wile driving, so we don't think it is the converter. I have checked and cleaned all the grounds and trans connections. ANY ideas?
What I'm saying is that I had a similar issue and by deleting lockup in 3rd gear it rectified my problem... I'm only seggesting that you try this only an other option/ possibility ??. Hope you sort it out Good luck.

thanks for the info, I didn't know that my tuner had already done this also. He had the same thought, also another symptom of this problem is that when I get on it real hard the car will climb to 6500 rpm or so and stall out and quit running for a second and my OBD 2 port looses power for a second. After this happens the converter works normal for a while.

Er... This is a bit scary. You need to track down this electrical gremlin before trying to debug the tune.
