Will the Z51 C6 brake upgrade really show results over the slotted C5 rotors and carbotech high performance pads?

I soon will be almost 500 to the wheels and do drive the car hard. I currently have Hawks hps and napa rotors with steel lines.

Looking for experienced input please.

thank you

Based on what I've read, I'm going to say no...but since I'm not speaking from personal experience, I'll move along.

If you want a true upgrade to your stopping power then the Baer Extreme 6 piston kit is a great way to go. Your choice of the Mono block or 2 piece caliper.

I've been autocrossing and taking my car to HPDEs regularly for the past three years with a setup that is close to yours (HAWK HP+ pads) and have never found myself wanting for more braking power. Go to the autocross and road racing section, there are many members running the stock brakes with upgraded pads. The stock braking system on these cars is very good.

Unless you add a bunch more weight to the car or plan on doing multiple consecutive stops from very high speeds (>130 mph) I see no need for increased braking power just because your RWHP has increased. This is just one individuals opinion, I'm sure there will be others that will recommend spending thousands of dollars on hardware you do not need.

I recently switched to C6 Z51 brakes. I did feel a pretty good increase in performance, but I also switch from stock/generic? pads to Hawk HPS pads and from Khumo MX runflats to Nitto NT-05's. I assume the change is more due to the pad and tires rather than the increased rotor size. I am glad I switched, but I also wanted to change wheels/tires. I was also dealing with a squeal in the rear brakes that was driving me nuts. I am happy with everything, but I can say I would recommend the change unless you were also wanting to do the wheels and rotors anyways.
