Bad Slave Cylinder....?
Im driving on a slipping clutch for about three more days while I wait for my replacement in the mail. But my quesiton is whether or not the culprit to the slipping clutch couldve been a bad slave cylinder. I had a SPEC Stage 2+ installed w/slave cylinder and the thing was solid, after about 6 months of driving (no track) it started to already show signs of slipping. The thing is if I held down the clutch and really pushed on it I could feel the clutch pedal come back into my foot slightly and the slipping would go away. Almost felt, feels, like the slave isnt releasing the teeth fully back into the plate. If I attempt to engine brake I can feel the clutch slowly engage the plate after the pedal is fully released. I have no problem disengaging the clutch at all. In fact it takes minimal pedal input. I do not have a shim installed. Clutch fluid level has never dropped. No apparent leaking of any kind.
At the point the clutch is toast, I understand this, Im just trying to educate myself as to how it happened.
Thanks guys
Mine did something similar for about 3 weeks before it started puking fluid onto the garage floor.
Here's a link to some pictures of what I found inside the slave:

This may not be what's going on with yours, but hopefully you're installing a new slave while you're in there-because if the clutch itself didn't cause the problem, then something in the hydraulics did...
