Default diff. fluid

OK going to change the diff. fluid and thought I would ask everyone seems to think works best. I have the GM diff. additive and was going to get some cast. diff. fluid but I thought I would ask what everyone else uses. Thanks Richard

That's what I use as well. Use it in my Toyota as well and have put significantly more miles on that vehicle.

You can't go wrong with the GM synthetic diff fluid along with the GM limited slip additive. That's what I used. No diff noise whatsoever.

Make sure the fill plug will back out before you drain the differential, though. Don't want to drain it and have no way of re-filling it.

And make sure to find the metal gasket for the drain plug and reinstall before filling the diff.
Ask me how I know!

I use and recommend this:
AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90 (Product Code SVGQT)

Note that this fluid comes with friction modifier already in it and for the C5, adding additional modifier is not normally needed to prevent diff chatter. I use this without modifier in my 02 Z06 on the track without diff chatter.

If you are a DIYer, this will come in handy:
AMSOIL Hand Pump (Product Code G2039)
