Default Help - Stripping T1 End Links

The factory torque specification for the end link nuts is 53 lb-ft. I recently installed a T1 suspension and have twice stripped the end link nuts. It is not my torque wrench. The T1 end link nuts seem to be more fragile in their design than the regular factory nuts (not very thick with fewer threads). Do the T1 end links nuts have a different torque specification? Does anyone know whether you can but the nuts rather than a whole end link package? If yes, do you know the part number for the T1 end link nuts (my dealer did not know the answer to either question)? Thanks in advance for any help.

You can buy locking nuts at Lowes, just take the endlink with you to find the right size. I didn't actually torque mine I just got them as tight as they would go and i didn't strip anything.

I live in NY. Finding anything like this in a store around here is next to impossible. I took them to a hardware store only to discover that they are regular U.S. fine thread. I thought that they would be metric with unknown pitch. So, I found some. Thanks.

Not yet. Car is sitting in the garage while I do some other work on it. The only potential issue I see is that the factory nuts are not very tall which allows the locking portion of the nut to work. Hardware store nuts are much taller and might not thread down far enough for the locking portion to work. Will see.
