Question regarding brake lights
I am about finished with my conversion project( Taking a '99 FRC and doing a complete Z06 conversion) and now I can't get the four brake lights to work. The third brake light lights up fine. I have turn signals and hazards. The bulbs are good and I have checked fuse 8 and 15 in the footwell and they are fine. Any other ideas?

Have you check 12volts and ground at the receptacles?

Thanks I will try that tomorrow. Ok I am not an electrical guru, so just to verify, I place the positive lead on the dk green wire and the negative lead on the black wire. I don't want to short something out, so it's best to verify, lol.

That method may give you a false result if you have a bad ground. So what's best, is to make sure the black wire is a good ground, with reference to the chassis...should be 0(or very low) ohms. If you have a good ground at the connector, then you can test for 12 volts like you described with confidence.
Red lead - dark green wire- pin A
Black lead - black wire - Pin G

Hey Jason,
Look under at the brake pedal area and see if the white wire is cut. I can't remember if that car came with the euro lights.

Hey Tony, turns out the wire was cut so thank goodness for an easy fix. Thanks for the help guys! Everything works as it should now. I just need to figure out why I don't have low beams on my Depos that has HIDS? Any ideas? Could be the bulbs, but both being burned out at the same time make me question that.

Hey Jason,
I bet the ballast wires are backwards. A lot of the china stuff have the positive and negative wires backwards. Flip the connector around and see if that works.
Glad I saw your post about the brake lights. Could not remember for sure if that one had the euro lights or not since there have 6 vettes that have passed through here over the last few years.

I will check the wiring on the headlights tomorrow. Anyways, glad you saw this post also, lol. I remember I had bought a set of the euro lights to go on my red Z06, but when I found out that you had to cut the wire, I sold them, lol. Oh well, it's all good on that end now.
