Default Low profile jack

Just switched to Bridgestone S-03 Pole postion(non run flat). I have the plug kit and compressor but think I should have a jack. Any suggestions?

Todd, I don't think that's the type jack he had in mind. There are several of us (myself included) who have gone to non-runflats and would like the smallest, lightest jack available to carry in our car for emergencies. Someone (vendor) should do some research and carry them. This has come up many times on the Forum.

I have seen a few who suggested the jack out of a Honda Civic. Small, light
and enough to lift a corner. In fact, I saw one the other night over at
Starbucks. The guy that had it was in a very badbutt Supra.

Might be worth checking into ???

My friend carries a jack from his old Nissan Sentra... it is one of the scissor type jacks that comes with the car ... not good for everyday lifting but its size is great for storage in one of the side compartments ...

I would try a junk yard ... yet a cheap but working jack ... all he did was repaint it black since it had a little wear... but it worked fine when he had a flat tire ...

His car is not lowered at all ... and the jack barely fit under the car maybe 1/4 of an inch of room ... to lift the front passenger side ... so for those of you with Slammed cars ... I suggest you switch back to runflats if you are really worried like I am ...

Sears has a small jack that fits perfectly under my z06. I bought it recently on sale for $29.99...regulary $39.99. I asked this same question on another board here and lots of others are using this jack.

What does the Sears jack look like, scissor, etc.?
Going to Sears today and will look for it.

BTW, in my other post on repairing run flats, I got my rear repaired at the Goodyear place over by Valley View yesterday (thanks for the suggestion in taking it there. The manager was very nice and helpful. No charge since it was in warranty).

The car is so low, their lift would not lift it safely with my hockey pucks, so I had to go home and take it off. No problems getting it back on and the pressure gauges are reading OK. BTW, asked what a new set of run flats cost and he said over $2K!!!!! Makes me want to find some Grand Sport rims and get my DR’s on!

While I was at Pep boys the had a scizzor type jack that was hydraulic for about 40.00. The lowest it would go was 4 inches.

Just got back from Sears and their scissor jack is 4 inches high (minimum) which will fit under my lowered Vette (by 1/2 inch). Looks El Cheapo, but it does fit. :D

The Sears part number is 950117, regular price $24.99, unfortunately not on sale today. Thanks to ebluezguy and 98ISGR8 for the leads.

Roger, thanks for the info. I need to deflate a tire and see how much clearance I have then. Know anyone who has done this?

A new set of run-flats for $2k?? I'd ask what kind of crack he was smoking. ~$1150 shipped for the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS EMT RunFlat from tirerack.com, usually takes them about 2 days to your door.

When I switched to non-run-flats the cheapest price locally for Pole Position S03's was approx $1300, and it would take them a week to get them. I ended up paying $950, and it took 2 days.

Yes, but it takes up a lot of room in the trunk, and really slides around alot during hard driving. I think I'll just go with one of the scissors jacks.

Has anyone ever used two scissors jacks, at the jacking points, to lift one entire side of the car in order to remove both wheels? This may be a cheap and easy way to go in order to get at the calipers for painting. Would this be okay? Any thoughts?
