Default EMT Goodyears 23lbs heavier?

Hi guys, I don't know if this already has been covered, but I just read in a 2001 bochure that the Z06 shed 23lbs just by switching to the Supercar tires.(tires only, not the wheels) I knew the EMT's were heavier, but 6lbs a tire? Are my g-Force's as light as the Supercar? Thanks.

Default Re: EMT Goodyears 23lbs heavier? (Powerhungry)

tru dat, true dat.

Those EMT's are heavy as she-ot. I put Nitto 555's on my OEM wheels and it felt like I bolted on 20hp! They say the relationship of unsprung weight is 4:1, compared to sprung weight. So, a 1# reduction at the wheel is like 4# of chassis weight.

Never been on a dyno or to a track, but the SOTP is improved - not to mention the improvement is ride quality & tire noise reduction. By far, the best mod out there!
