Super Chevy At Pomona..
Well its been about 23 years since I physically raced down a drag strip. So this weekend I decided to take a few runs at Pomona with my stock '02 ,A4 coupe. My first pass was a 13.60 @103 with a .714 R/T. I thought man I must have really lost it. Then I started to process the run in my head and I found the problem. When I lit the second stage light I didn't come up against the converter! So second run I blink the second stage light bring up the R's
and 13.28 @ 104 with a .519 R/T! Looks like I still have it..
Tomorrow will be one more practice run followed by eliminations at noon.
There were at least 3 other C5's there. One torch red coupe, one black Z and a black coupe. The Z was having problems shifting. On the one run I saw, he was hitting the rev limiter hard in second or third equaling a 14 second run at over 110.
I'll let you know what happens tomorrow. Mike

Nice reaction time. I really wish I could have made a few passes at Pomona, it's a great track. My broken heel is still healing and not quite ready to push the duel disc Mcloed. How crowded was it? how many runs did you get?

My name is Gary. I was the guy in the black coupe. I agree. This is a great track and I only wish that we got to use it more than once a year. Had my best ever e.t. (12.17) and 60' (1.78) there today. However, you cleaned my clock with that 5.19 r/t! Way to go! You've still got it! :cool:

JB - absolutely you can run tomorrow. Today was a test and tune kind've a day. It will be VERY crowded so plan on getting there when the gates open at 8:00 a.m. Be early so that you can get through tech - which may take more than an hour and then try to get in at least one run so you can figure out what you want to dial. Good luck and let us know how you did!

JBSBLOWN: I got two runs in bracket 2. Bracket one only got 1 run. I don't think it was crowded but I am used to national events. Mike
