HELP, although the temp was only 40 deg, chk eng lite, code P0327 more within
for the first time, out of the blue, I get the dreaded check engine light and code related to detonation :mad :mad The only change I made to the car back in the fall was the BPP maf ends but i ran the car for a month or two before putting it up for the winter with no ill effects. I am thinking I may have gotten bad gas but isn't detonation more likely when it is hot outside?? I don't know much so you tech experts chime in. Isn't detonation caused by having a lean condition? When I dynoed at PTC I was told I was still running slightly rich, so they recommend trying maf ends to lean it out a little. I DO NOT want ANY detonation. I will give up 5 rwhp to have no problems. Is it possible something else entirely is causing this problem? How worried should I be. Thanks for your input. By the way, in my application what do you think about using maf ends anyway, I know many of the computer 'tuners' are against them, like S. Cole Ed Wright etx

i doubt the MAF ends have caused this, unless, you've done damage to the MAF itself causing the car to run lean. Code P0327 = "KS Circuit Front". This could be a false alarm; you may not actually have KR. Running real lean will cause knock, as well as too much or too little timing, also running way too rich. outside temp doesnt always infuence knock. either way you slice it, you dont want it. i would recommend getting ScanEase or AutoTap for your laptop in order to scan your vehicle. this would greatly assist in diganosing this problem (if any really exist). if this is not feasible, drive to see if it happens again. was you driving hard, undr heavy load when this happened? if it was crappy gas, i would suspect it would happen almost every time you're under heavy load.

ttt, ANYONE? BTW thanks for the input. Checked out the MAF itself and no damage. I doubt it is the maf ends as well as I had them on for several months and didn't have any problems. Now that the car has been mainly sitting over the past few months I suddenly have this problem. What other possiblities are there? Just a bad sensor? TAC module failure? C5 specialists, any thoughts? Anyone
