I was swapping a Haltech intake from one car (a 2001 vert) to a 2000 FRC yesterday, and noted a couple of things:
1) The MAF body was smaller in the 2000 than in the 2001. Easily fixed by building up the MAF to fit the intake.
2) There was an additional sensor plugged into the air bridge on the 2000 FRC that was not present in the 2001 car.
What is that sensor for? I pulled it from the old air bridge, plugged it into the harness and zip tied it down, but there's no place to put it in the new Haltech air bridge, and it would be in front of the MAF, rather than behind it as it was in the original. Thanks.

That's why the air intakes are made for a specific year. The sensor you just zip tied down is the Intake Air Temp sensor, and it needs to be in the air intake to measure the temp. The 2001+ uses a 5 wire MAF, with the IAT incorporated into it. You can't just leave out the IAT, so you will have to make a provision for it......or have problems.
Well, it's still sensing the air temp under the hood... Just not in the intake. Knowing what it is, I'll just cut a bung in the new air bridge. Many thanks.
