For the price there are alot of other intakes that in my opinion are better for the same price. Blackwing(bigger filter), aFe(bigger filter and air bridge), Vararam (true cold air intake), and so on. All but the Vararam are very easy to install including the BBK. The only one you might get codes with is the Vararam. The best for the money I would say is the Vararam. ( and no I dont have one on my car I have an aFe)

Search the parts for sale section and I'm sure you can find a better deal. I'm just not a fan of the aluminum air bridge from BBK. I run the Callaway Honker.
I just finished a AFE and it definetly was not just a replacement. It would not fit properly until I cut a rectangle in my front shoud and I had to cut up my radiator cover to make it fit. Just something to consider. I'm not sure if anyone else had this experience.

Mine fit with no problem. Took me 20min to take off the stock box and put the aFe on.

Its a 01. It fits naturally. The coupler is stright. The air bridge lines up with the same mounting points as the stock air bridge. If you want I can PM you and ill give you my number. I might be able to help.

I appreciate you help. I'm already done at this point. Did you notice a difference between stock?

Not a problem. Not sure if the bumper would play a part in it or not. I did notice alot better throttle responce. For the price I was very happy with the gains.
I've got the chrome BBK and have had no problems. I got it because I like the way it looks.
There is not doubt the BBK looks the best. I wanted to buy that one, however AFE stated they got 22HP vs 10-15HP for the BBK. AFe's claim is probably BS.

You are probably right. I went with the aFe for the size of the air bridge and the filter size. Its one of the biggest air bridge/filter combo I have seen for a C5.
I'm not going to race mine, but I did notice a difference even with the BBK. I've also got a Billy Boat Route 66 cat back. It seems the Vararam probably adds more horsepower, but I don't like the way the look as well as the BBK.
