Default Ive got strange HVAC problems....

First of all the car is an '01 Z06 with the newer style HVAC
Ok well ill begin with the one thats the most annoying...... The passenger side blows colder than the drivers side HOWEVER ive already torn the dash apart and tried to reindex the actuators and it does NOTHING, no difference... I even reached in there and opened/closed the flap manually with my hand to varify it was open/closed etc..... and still the pass side was WAY colder.

Also ive noticed that when i turn the pass **** on the climate unit nothing happens as in the display stays the same, is it supposed to change when the pass adjusts warmer or cooler????

I had a dim display and i read that the solder joints go bad and can cause it to do wacky things but i removed it today and reslodered everything and now the display is great but the other issues are still the same.

Anyone got a clue whats up with my possesed HVAC system, i NEED A/C as my car is Black/Black and i live in the south

I will try to add some R134A and see if it helps.

I would check the level in the A/C system. You will have to go somewhere that has the machine that will tell you what the temp is, what it should be and if the system is low on freon.

I had the same issue with mine being colder on one side and it was due to it being low on freon. We removed all the freon and oil the right way into the evacuator. Got all the moisture out of the system, put in new oil, freon and it worked like new.

So is there some other flap/door in the HVAC system i need to check is operating correctly???

Something wierd i noticed one day was when i brake/accelerate sharply it gets colder????

Number 2 issue that makes no sense is that the A/C seems to blow colder on the fresh air setting than it does on recirculate in fact it feels like its not working at all when its on recirc.

I don't see anything weird really. Did you verify that the actuators were really working? you say you re-indexed them, but they may be inoperative. When you brake or accelerate, you change vacuum, which relates to the actuator doors, so there seems to be some consistency there. What codes do you see on the DIC?

No. The passenger adjustment does not have a display, nor will the display changed when adjusted.

First pull your codes:

I would put a set of gauges on the system to verify the freon charge. Once you know it's good, you can go from there.
