C5 Radiator upgrade
I see a lot of comments that the OEM radiator is not very good. I've got a 02 convertible that is stock, except for Magnaflow exhaust and Vararam intake. With the stock thermostat, it ran about 215 on the interstate. I installed a 180 degree, now the temperature runs about 194. I read an article in one of my vette magazines where a GM engineer stated that the LS engine was designed to run between 200 and 220. Based on that, my temp seem well within range. Is the need for an upgraded radiator just if you are increasing performance, or are we just trying to get the temp down to 180 or so? Thanks for any feedback.
