No ..I have HUD displaying and memory seat functions working...I have no taillights...no side marker lights...no license plate or back up lights..no dash lights . Headlights and brake lights work but headlights will not go down when lights are turned off or when key taken out of ignition switch. Same symptoms, except for the headlights, that I had 2 years ago when the multi function switch was replaced...just can't believe that the switch would be bad again...this car isn't a daily driver, the switch doesn't get used enough to be worn out in 2 years.

The reason I asked is.....the twilight sentinel has been included in all the C5's (I've seen to date, including mine), that have HUD and memory seat options. Please check the options in the DIC....this is a good way to troubleshoot this type of problem, because the twilight feature bypasses the MFS.

Don't have it...Twilight Sentinel was option code T82. Came out in 99.
I've got a 99 with Hud and Memory Seats...but no T82.

Technically it was not available until the 99 MY. It seems that some 98's may have it though. I'm not certain on how all options were grouped, but in most cases I've seen, if you have memory seat option, and hud....typically you have twilight sentinel. The OP of this thread was the first exception I've seen(I'm sure there are plenty more though)

It basically operates from the ambient light sensor, which is located on the right side of the front defrost grill. It looks like a small black bulb. When the twilight option in turned on in the DIC, it will automatically control the lighting based on conditions. The nice thing about having it, is it bypasses the MFS, so even if the switch goes bad(provided it does not short internally), all your lights will function at night....i.e instruments, headlights/doors, markers, etc.
