I have to buy a new fuel pump. And was looking at options... Vettes have a factory walbro pump? Does that mean if I buy another walbro that it is plug n play. Bc a walbro is 100$ mist others are 250. But I heard u have to mess with the wiring harness if u buy a new walbro. All help is appreciated. Thx
Not sure what the factory unit is, but I'd get a LPE, which I think is a Walbro 255.
I installed the hot wire kit with mine, so mine wasn't plug and play, but there was nothing to it.
I think the bucket needs to be modified to take the 255. The guys at LPE should know the answer.
The one I installed MAY not have been a 255. It WAS part # L710650197 and did not need the bucket altered. States it's good for 600hp. I'm at 650+rwhp and still holding 53psi
What would I need to install the walbro properly? And please explain modifying
the bucket? Cuz if I can get the walbro 255 which is on 100$ compared to everything else that's 300$ that wud help alot. Thx
You would have to cut your bucket off to add another $100 walbro pump.
If you are interested, I have a LPE fuel pump for sale. Its a high volume pump and is completely plug and play. No wiring messes, no cutting, etc... All you will have to do is remove your current pump and switch over the bucket lids/fuel sending unit.
