Help, Code comes up "reduced engine power and kills my car!!
I have twin turbo's on my car with a Honda Civic alternator on my car that is supposed to be the culprit. The alternator puts out the right amps, but I will be driving and at any given time the code comes up on display "reduced engine power and kills the car. I have to reset the codes with my scan tool before it will crank up again. Any ideas how to bypass this problem? Thanks!

If you read the post on the PTK turbo kit, all of the kits intalled required a Honda alternator because it is smaller than the origional and has to be relocated. An alternator is an alternator, did'nt know that one alternator did anything different than the other?
Some post are showing check the door looms, and grounds, I have relocated my battery to the rear compartment in the car, sounds like a lot of things could be the issue, anyone local to lufkin or houston texas that could re$olve my problem?

The C-5 Alternator has an output to the PCM for all kinds of diagnostics. I would expect charge fault errors on the DIC and not reduced engine power though.

So you think all alternators are the same? They are not even all the same between C5's.
