column lockplate removal
2) don't need turn signal I'm a race car
3) I thought the GM fix to the locked column was to remove the lock plate so the acturator pin would slide in and out without interferrence thus the actuator would send proper signals to the BCM thus fixing the column lock issue sometimes combined with harness K install or thundermountain racing CLB.
I would not try this at home, rather a garage and hopefully a Corvette-centric mechanical or at least someone with an extensive GM-related steering column background.
I have read that a special lockplate-like thing is supplied with the GM harness, its purpose is to cancel or at least something related to the turn signals.
However I may have traced my problems to a faulty ignition cylinder or at least key, code B2723, so perhaps after fixing that problem the column will unlock and I will immediately order a CLB from overseas.
Once again, I appreciate your quick response
Thank you for responding about the lock plate.
Since the car was shipped from the USA new and "the" official dealer does not perform any recalls whatsoever, it does not have the K-Harness.
The battery may be an issue as well as the ignition cylinder. I will test these tomorrow and see what happens
Reading the column lock sticky, I understand that you responded to these type of questions quite a lot of times and I would like to thank you for taking your time once again to reply.
