6 speed issues
saturday, at about 100, car had 'bang' in tranny, was in 5th or 6th...pushed in clutch and all seemed fine...yesterday, gentle shift into 5th, 'bang' returned and now acts like it's in 2 gears...it tries to kill engine when I let clutch out in neutral, but reverse seems ok, so it ain't the slave or clutch..did i break 5th and there's pieces in there???
Can you rebuild these???or cheaper to buy junk yard???
This tranny has NOT been abused...

Yes, you can break the transmission. Simply put, there's a lot of things that could have happened but the only way to know is to pull it apart and be ready with the $

Sounds like the time I had a syncro key come loose, I rocked the car back and forth till the key fell into the bottom of the case then drove slowly home. I found out I could drive it easy just not fast thru the 3-4 shift. Good luck.
