Replacing A/C clutch with compressor in place?

The compressor has to be removed, and special tools are also needed to R&R the clutch.

Mine was making a loud clicking noise, but still worked then one day the noise stopped and no ac! I'm about to call around today for some labor quotes, I've been putting it off seeing im figuring on $300+ labor alone.
