2001 Door Lock Module Question
The FOB will no longer unlock or lock the door on the drivers side. I have to lock that door using my key. The window function is fine. It goes up/down with no problem. All other aspects of the door seem to function as designed except the lock.
The passenger side door works fine with the FOB. I want to get a new module or a good used module for the DRIVERS door, BUT.
I'm confused.
I see TWO different part numbers commonly listed.
10342159
09389689
Both are "advertised" as being correct for 2000 and up C5's.
I believe that the 10342159 number is the correct one, but the other number keeps turning up, being listed as "correct".
What's the scoop?
TIA.
Chuck

I just fixed the same problem that you have, but in the pass. side door of my '01.
If your handy with a soldering iron, you can repair your DCM for about $5 and a couple hours of your time.
Forum member Bakersfield posted a how to do write-up about it. Here's the link to it:

To be honest, I'd just as soon buy a used module and pop it in.
That's why I'm confused about the PN's. Also, I don't want to tear the door apart without the replacement in hand, as my wife drives the car almost every day.

If your going to the trouble of taking the door panel apart, at least put a new DCM in it. A used module will probably have, or very soon have, the the same relay problem that you now have in yours.
I do know that the modules are each made specific for the LH and RH doors. Make sure you buy a DCM for an '01-'04 driver side door.

At least some of the ads lead me to believe that. Since I'm relatively new here in Florida, I don't know any of the parts guys at the Chevy stores.
Back in Maryland, I'd just make a call. Hate to bother someone with a PN request if I have no intention to buy. That module, BTW, lists for over $400.00 You can get them new for about $280.00 or so. You can get them used for $75.00, guaranteed. I've seen several on EBAY.

@ burbleflyer.. Having the same issue with a 2000s driver door. I can hear the module click but the door lock won't always work. You replaced the lock solenoid and that cured it? Would you happen to have the part number? And where is it located? Thanks!

Most module problems have been dirty or burned relay contacts, and full power is not sent to the door lock actuator.
The DCM's are located inside each door panel. Read the link to Bakersfield's write-up that I posted earlier in this thread.

Hearing the relay click in the module does not mean that it's good.

So, I had the same thing happen to me. The passenger side would not lock when using the fob or the actual lock button. I left it for about a year and finally got tired of manually locking the door. By the time I was ready to repair it today both the lock and unlock feature were not functional.
I purchased the relay from digikey. The part number I purchased was, digikey 255-1240-ND (Relay Automotive SPDT 15A 12V. I ordered 6 of them because, one they are cheap...$1.72 each, and two I was not sure if I would need 3 per side given the pictures I saw of the PCB, I thought I may have the same issue with the other side in the future...this pretty much assures me that I will not
By the way, digikey ships super fast. At my door step 2 days later and I chose standard shipping.
I had desolder wick already, iron, flux, and knife. I followed the following instructions to get the door apart:
http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...or_handle.html
And then to replace the relay modules I followed the following instructions:
http://www.valleyvettes.ca/door_module.html
The silicone is a bit of a pain in the ***, but aside from that all is good. Takes some patience to desolder but hey, its a holiday anyway!!
Luckily, everything worked like a charm and I had it apart and back together in about 2 hours.
Thanks to everyone for all their posts regarding this issue. I am just reconfirming that these two resources are perfect to use if you have this issue.
Happy 4th of July everyone!

Here's a variation on this apparently common problem. My passenger door lock will not lock or unlock with either the fob or the switches on the driver or passenger side. The passenger door switch, however, will both lock and unlock the driver side door as it should. I'm thinking a bad passenger side actuator since the switch is sending a good signal to the driver lock vs a dual (lock and unlock) relay failure which seems to be the major problem that occurs with these locks. What do you all think?
BTW, she's a 2003 AE 'vert if that helps!

I second that. I did the 15A digikey resoldering last year. My passenger side would click but not actually lock. after soldering in new relays its been working great over a year.
Do the soldering yourself or find a local or mail-order tech who can do it.....
