New shifter questions

Not to be confused with the Ripper, as this has some isolation / two piece shaft to stop noise. I can't compare it to the other Vette shifters but I'm happy w/ the feel, and it is not a noisy rattling shifter like the Ripper was in my 99 TA. It will also work w/ the stock C5 or 05-07 C6 shift *****. Just put a C6 **** on mine and that is a nice improvement in looks and feel over the blocky C5 **** IMO.

It your issue with hard shifting ( effort )? Or a decided "notchy" feel? or 'throw distance between gears? Or perhaps the compartmentalized feeling?
A shifters satisfaction is very subjective . If you are against the notchy feel then don't get a short throw shifter . This feeling will only be enhanced by the shorter shifter arm.
If hard shifting effort is objectionable don't get a short throw shifter, as most take more or at least the same effort to shift. Instead change the transmission fluid to a synthetic and install a Venom detent bolt at $60 ( also what works is the pirated "anti-venom" .060 washer trick). This loosens the detent spring tension slightly .
A C6 shifter arm assembly (your Z06 shift box is identical to the 2005 2008 C6 shift box with solid horizontal bushings) has a canted ergonomic design that has favored well as a shifter arm upgrade. The C6 shift has an approx. 10% shorter throw. From Left to right : The Hurst C5 3915085, OEM C6 shifter , OEM C5 shifter arm)

Myself , I've gone the gambit with my three C5s (2000 FRC and 2001 Z06) and now use a modified Hurst C6 #3915086 shifter, Venom detent bolt and Red Line D4 Synthetic ATF. I wanted something more like my old Hurst bolted to an M-22. But the wife likes the C6 Z06 shifter in her 2000 FRC. Hurst C6 3915086

I'm not fimilar with the "Billet Quick Shifter" but most quality after market shifters are about the same in price. Breathless is another shifter . The RSD snap shifter is just a C6 shifter that the shifter has been cut down and threaded (9/16-18 threads which is what the C5 OEM threads are). I was not impressed. This picture is a full length C6 Z06 shifter with 9/16-18 threads that I added .

Last year I bought an brand new 2007 C6 Z06 shifter assembly /with shift box in the GM box for $100.
Bought a CCA ( Mike Norris) Black Chrome oil catch can assembly , again brand new from Chip for $105.
Late last year bought a set of 18"/19" Chromed C6 wheels ( Factory Reproduction brand) and Goodrich g Force KDW2 with less than 1500 miles ( Sacramento, California), that are sized and offset perfect for my Z06 for $1150

Point being that if you know what you want , are patient and know what prices are the CF is a great place to buy. I've spent over $12,000 in the last 18 months on my three (3) vettes and most of it here on the CF.
Buying a pre owned shifter from the CF can be a real value as most ( read their ads) have installed the aftermarket shifter and did not like them and now three (3) months later are selling them for 1/2 price.
hotwheels57, I posted that shifters , like tires & wheels are very subjective which is why you'll see so many aftermarket shifter posted in the parts for sale section(s) of CF. I myself have to modify every shifter to try and meet my requirements.
