I'm getting ready to add Line Loc to my C5. Has anyone done this mod and do you have pictures on how you did it. I'm having trouble in deciding which brake line to use, do you use the line at the master cylinder or after the brake control unit.
I would also like to see pictures or how to of the line lock install
was thinking about getting one, anybody have a name brand/part number
they would recommend??
Are there any issues with the line loc and the ABS? I was considering this a month ago and was told by a few local shops that they wouldn't do it because of the ABS. One of them was Chassis Engineering, and they build race cars.
all you really do is splice the line loc between the master cylinder and the abs controller. its actually VERY simple. you need about a foot of brake line to run from the loc to the master cyl. you will need to make and bend the line. and a single/double flare brake tool . i single flared all the fittings and it works great
i put the line loc about 8 inches below and 2 inches ahead of the master cylinder right on the frame. you will also need to plug the lines you are not using on the line loc and 1 brake line fitting for the line loc use. it only took me about 45 mins. after i had the parts
i used the hurst line loc. i think its the best one and easiest to install.

any questions?
I also have the Hurst Line lock but I did not install it yet because I don't want to screw up. Which brake line did you use coming out of the master cylinder. The front one or the back one? Did you only need to use one extra break line? Which holes did you use on the line loc and which ones did you plug?
Also, where did you feed the wires for the switch and the light into the dash?
Did you need to splice the brake wire for the light?
Alot of questions but I want to do this right. Thanks
RED99HT, if you look at your abs controller where the 4 lines go into the top of it, it is self explanatory which line is for the front brakes. i took the line completely out of the car and cut it where i ewanted to splice the loc in.i reused the piece from the loc to the abs controller. and formed a new piece from the loc to the master cylinder . i just formed it with my hands.
yes you only need to make a new line from the loc to the master cylinder.
if you look at your line loc. if you have the hurst it is self explanatory which ones to use and which ones to plug. if not look at the directions that come with it. that will tell you
i wired mine into my windshield washer button on the end of the right hand stalk that controls the wipers. i removed my windshield washer tank and tubes because i never use them. so i decided to use the washer button as it did not have a purpose anymore. i also did not use the activation light that comes with the line loc, i do not feel it is necessary
i did not do anything with the brake lights or brake light wiring
