I had a few drops of power steering fluid leaking as well.. It was an inch down on the dipstick. I topped it off and was preparing to schedule a visit to the dealer (extended warrentee), but it has stopped leaking now!

I'm keeping an eye on it!

I lost power while driving on the freeway, and when I got to a nearby parking lot PS fluid was everywhere under the hood. The dealer flat bedded it in, and then they said that it looked like the factory forgot to put a clamp on the low pressure return side.

It was a mess, but they cleaned it up nicely. I also was happy to learn it was nothing having to do with the pump itself. Also for more information for you, at that time this event occurred, I put a post here on the Forum and very few people reported problems with the PS unit.

Good luck. :)

I went through three power steering pumps already in the last two years.
They (pumps) keep on leaking, they (dealer) keep on changing.

GM quality parts, I guess.

My pump was replaced at 11,000 miles. It started out with a small leak and within a day or two got bad. No problems since!

Here's one more for you deselfiter. At 1500 mi. I noticed some
power steering fluid on the garage floor so I took it in to the
dealer and they had to replace the rack and pinion.
