How do the base C6s (05-07) compare performance wise to the C5 Z06s of 02-04? Prices seem not to be too far apart and I like the looks of both. What about the ride quality as well? I realize this has been addressed before. Probably some of you have had both.
I own a C5 Z, and my buddy has an 06 C6 manual. I have an intake and exhaust and he's bone stock. It's a drivers race if that tells you anything, but when it comes to refinement, the C6 will when every time. The C5 Z on the other hand feels more like a Corvette should, raw and unpredictable.
I had an 02Z and an 07 Coupe. The 07 was a better car in every way. The seats in the Z always sucked. I'm not a big guy and I slid all over the place when I drove it hard. I'd stay away from 05's though and an 08 is a much better car than the 07.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I know the C5Zs are not going to be as all around refined as the base C6 but I have found a few very nice 02-04 Zs (20 thousand miles and less) in the low to mid 20s. Most 05s and 06s I have found are going to run more than that with the exception of maybe a high mileage one. I also like the roofline on the older Zs so I am leaning in that direction right at the moment but everything is subject to change. Probably won't be making any purchases till I sell the Harley . Thanks again
