Default Dreaded battery acid leak

On my used 99 at sometime it had the dreaded battery acid leak. I am having no problems currently. What should I do (if anything) in trying to clean up the residue. Because of all the electric componets I cannot believe that water is a good idea. But I can't believe leaving it alone is a good idea either. Looking for some suggestions.

Default Remove battery and bottom tray and flush with baking soda

I had the vacuum leak where no vacuum to vents caused by acid on the tubing. Removed battery and tray. Mixed up baking soda in hot water and thoroughly applied to all areas under the battery tray including cables and metal parts. Do the same for battery tray, bolts, and holddown plastic piece. Hose off and let dry. Wire brush and repaint any metal parts where acid has corroded the metal. I used a can of black spray paint and applied several coats. Check the hard black vacuum tubing and if deteriorated cut off all bad tubing and replace with rubber vacuum hose.
Have Fun

I agree with the baking soda, but you need to determine if the PCM was affected. If there is any evidence of acid on the PCM, I would removed the PCM and TAC, bag the harness connectors, and clean everything up.
